Local Arts and Culture

Arts & Culture

Something about the North Fork Valley attracts and inspires creative types, the Valley seems to be a beacon to those who have a skill at expression. The area has skilled artists and artisans working in many media. We boast nationally known authors and musicians, world renowned glass artisans, talented photographers and painters, expressive thespians, exceptionally skilled blacksmiths and sculptors. The list goes on and on.

Blue Sage Center

A nonprofit organization located in Paonia, Colorado, the Blue Sage Center for the Arts is dedicated to providing community members with opportunities to create and experience art in all its forms. We offer a variety of expressive mediums – from classical to jazz and world music concerts, creative writing contest and readings – to suit the needs and interests of an increasingly diverse and artistic community. Today the Blue Sage serves about 10,000 residents of the North Fork Valley annually through classes, events, gallery exhibits, venue rentals and arts outreach into local schools.

Creamery Arts

After a decade of serving the art community in Delta County, the Creamery Arts Center is undergoing a restructuring.  The vision of a community space for education and the arts began in 2006 when a formerly vacant and run down building was extensively remodeled into a world-class art gallery and education center by  Linda Tullis.  The Creamery, which has since become a centerpiece of downtown Hotchkiss, as well as an attraction to visitors from outside the area, has strengthened art appreciation, provided low cost art classes to the area youth, and has provided gallery space for over 50 local artists and authors to sell their work.
